Italicizing or underlining phrases in an Ad description will serve to emphasize a certain point. It will definitely draw eyes to it and make people take notice. Adding a hyperlink to your Ad body will increase the rate of click-through. However, not all classified advertising sites provide that function.

“Having the ability to format your Ad description will bring out your selling point, and having hyperlinks will increase traffic back to your site,” says COO Mr. Tang Chin Yong. “We had feedback from our users, and also requests for this feature. Hence our engineers got right to implementing it.”

It is very simple to utilize this feature. At Page 2 of the Ad posting process, type in your Ad description. Highlight those words or phrases which you would like to have italicized, bold or underlined, and hit the “I”, “B” or “U” button respectively.

To add a hyperlink to your Ad description, simply highlight the words or phrases you want to have hyperlinked, and click on the button that looks like a chain link. Add your desired URL in the popup window, and complete the other options as well to provide more information about that link. To remove a hyperlink, highlight the link and click on the button that looks like a broken chain link.

To undo or redo any changes, simply click on the arrow that points to the left or right respectively.

“We believe that this feature will definitely be beneficial to our users’ Ads and improve click-through rates and traffic for them,” says Mr. Tang.

“Vertical Specialist” or VS in short, refers to Partners of Ablewise.com, whereby they will feed Ablewise.com Free Classifieds with their own set of Ads for additional exposure and increased revenue.

“This feature will be beneficial to both our VS and us,” says COO Mr. Tang Chin Yong. “We provide this service, at the moment, free of charge to all approved VS. Our VS will get additional exposure other than from their native sites, and we will get a boost in our Ad categories. Users who are regular to both sites will benefit the most.”

Benefits of having a VS account with Ablewise.com include receiving weekly updates of various types of hits and impressions. There is also an option to upgrade to a premium account. A premium account comes with additional benefits such as increased Ads limit and the ability to receive private messages (PMs) from users who are interested in your Ads.

Anyone can request to be a partner or VS with Ablewise.com. However, a minimum input of 50 Ads is mandatory and applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please visit http://www.ablewise.com/details/AddYourListings to get started.

“It is simply a win-win situation for both parties,” says Mr. Tang.

Press Release

Having a community for any commercial site is a plus. A community brings the users closer, and the users are able to assist and provide tips for one another.

“We understand that having a community will allow for more interaction within the site, and improve relations between users, inculcating more trust, and naturally, make it easier to seal deals,” says Chief of Operations, Mr. Tang Chin Yong. “Therefore, introducing ‘My Friends‘ feature is the direction that Ablewise.com has moved in.”

It is extremely simple to utilize this feature. To add a user as a friend, all that is needed is to input his/her user ID, type in a personalized request message and hit the “Send Friend Request” button. If the request is approved, the new friend will appear in the “Friends” tab. Click on “Contact”, located beneath the friend’s profile picture, to contact him/her. To remove that user as a friend, simply click on “Remove”. To view users who are requesting to be friends, click on the “New Friends” tab to view, and click on either “Approve” or “Disapprove”.

“We believe implementing ‘My Friends’ will aid our users in having higher click-through rates for their Ads, as well as bringing them new friends and opportunities. It is a win-win situation for all our users”, says Mr. Tang.

Press Release

Unsolicited material, alias Spam, is a constant source of annoyance to users. With spam methods getting more aggressive and “intelligent”, websites are having a tough fight against it. It is hence necessary to always improve on spam filters and spam detection methods.

“Our initial spam filter is just adequate; hence we have been collecting feedback from our users, as well as monitoring the amount of spam hitting at our site,” says Chief of Operations, Mr. Tang Chin Yong. “Therefore, our engineers got right into developing a more stringent and robust spam combat system; we want our users to have as smooth an advertising experience as possible.”

Essentially, the spam filter does not require any action from users. This new spam filter will intelligently determine messages as spam by criteria such as messages from users that were blocked, restricted words found in a message and messages sent from usernames previously identified as spammers.

“With this newly developed spam filter, we are confident that we have brought spam combat up another notch, and that our users will not login to their account and find their PM box full of spam,” states Mr. Tang.

Live Help!
There is no better customer service than those received immediately. Immediate customer service not only answers any questions that any customer might have, but gives customers the feeling that their questions and opinions matter, that they matter.

“All our users are important to us. And we would like to answer all their questions as quickly as we can, and help them get started with their advertising campaign,” says Chief Executive Officer, William V.L. “We strongly believe that with this feature, we will go one step further from competition, and succeed in providing the best advertising experience for any user.”

To use Live Help!, all the user has to do is visit the contact us page and look for the blue “Live Help!” button, and click on it. A window will pop out, where the user has to input his/her name. Once a customer service operator has been connected, the interface is just like any other Instant Messaging (IM) software. To end the chat, just click on the “Exit” button.

“Nothing beats having your queries answered immediately. And we at Ablewise.com strive to provide the best customer service available.”

Classified advertising is different from standard advertising in that it allows not only corporate entities or companies, but to individuals as well, to actually be able to reach out to an audience and solicit for business. It is much more affordable to have a classified advertisement in the next issue of newspapers, than have to produce a television commercial, for individuals.

Classified advertising (or classified ads) usually contains just a few lines of text containing details like the nature of a business and contact information. Different from other types of advertising, classified ads are essentially textual and do not contain any pictures.

With the invention of the Internet and World Wide Web, classified advertising, like many other printed media, has progressed online.

Just to compare two points between printed and online media:

Online classifieds ads, unlike conventional printed ones, do not have space constraint. Typically, online classified sites now provide a full-page (the size of your monitor screen) display of ads for a standard fee, compared to printed ads, which has costs directly proportional to the size of the ad.

Whereas printed classified ads (via newspapers, mainly) are only reachable to people who actually buy the newspapers, and more often than not, are only in a small region, online classified ads are available to the entire world; just as long there is an Internet connection, of course.

Popular sites like Craiglist and Ablewise.com provide very easy-to-use systems for posting classified ads. With massive traffic to their sites everyday, users are able to sell their products within days after posting their ads.

It has been awhile since we last came out with a new feature for our free classifieds, but here it is - users’ most wanted feature: Block List.

We have successfully implemented a Block List into our Private Messenger (PM) Service where registered users can choose which other registered users to block. It is very simple to use - simply enter the userID of a registered user and click “Block”. Likewise, you can “Unblock” any blocked registered users whenever you wish. For unregistered users, we decided that the best way to do it is to “Block or Unblock all unregistered users” at once. Since it is almost impossible to know who the unregistered users are as individuals, we have no choice but to implement our Block List in this way.

Below is a screenshot of the Block List page under “My Messages“:

Users with tens to hundreds of Affiliates tend to spend a significant amount of time Private Messaging their Affiliates one by one. With our new “Contact All” form, this tedious task will be a thing of the past. Simply login to your account and go to your “My Affiliates“. Under “My Affiliates”, look for the link “Contact All”. For the “Contact All” link to appear, you would need to have at least one Affiliate, and must be either a Silver or Platinum Member.

Why do you need a “Contact All” form?

You can use the form to update all your Affiliates of your latest Ads or promotions (at once). You can also use it to mentor your Affiliates, such as teaching them how to post an Ad here, how to start making money with our Affiliate Program or how to create a successful online business. One form, infinite possiblities.

Take a look at our “Contact All” form below:

Contact All

Pressing on the “Send Message To All Affiliates” button will send your Private Message (PM) to all your Affiliates at once, together with email notifications informing them of a new PM received. It is like an instant email messenger, only better and faster.
